| Description: | Ref: 002 School of Psychology Details: Interview date – 26th March 2013 In collaboration with our NHS partners, we seek to appoint a Professor to take forward our ambitious plans for an extensive programme of clinical research exploring the needs of children and young people. Candidates should have a proven track record of high calibre research in a relevant area, be able to provide evidence of clinical academic leadership, and have demonstrated an ability to obtain research funding. The School of Psychology at the University of Sussex is one of the largest departments for the study of psychology in the UK with considerable strengths in both research and teaching. There is a vibrant research culture within the School that is based around four research groupings. These are; Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental and Clinical Psychology, and Social and Applied Psychology. The school is committed to the translation of research into real world NHS policy and practice and collaborates closely with Brighton and Sussex Medical School and the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a programme of relevant research across Schools and Mental Health Services and facilitate the translation of this research into policy and practice that can support the development of treatments and services for children and young people who have mental health problems. Applicants should preferably be Chartered Psychologists with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and hold full membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP) or be able to show evidence of eligibility for these memberships. In addition, where appropriate, applicants should also be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We anticipate that interviews will be held on Tuesday 26th March 2013.
