As an organisation KCA has an enviable reputation for delivering effective interventions to marginalised people in our local communities. You will work within the Kent Prisons IAPT service team of step 2 and step 3 practitioners, which we deliver alongside Oxleas NHS Trust. Our approach is bringing about real changes in the delivery of therapy within the prison environment, with prisoners responding positively. You will deliver 1:1 and group interventions at HMP Elmley. This may also involve occasional travel to HMP Canterbury and Dover Immigration and Detention Centre. You will deputise for the Clinical Lead at triage and other clinical meetings and, if suitably qualified, you may be required to offer supervision. The post would suit a therapist who has previous relevant experience, within a secure or forensic environment or someone who would like to develop their therapeutic skills in working with a male offender population. We will provide the opportunity to develop and enhance your professional understanding and skills within this field. Additional training (currently - personality disorders, risk and complex cases) and supervision will be provided. All staff members are required to obtain Enhanced Security Clearance and complete brief, mandatory Prison Service training.
