A number of Clinical Tutor sessions are available with the Clinical Practice teams based at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow as a result of vacancies and in response to new developments aimed at increasing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Supervision capacity within NHS Scotland.
For all posts you will be an experienced clinical psychologist registered with HPC and should be eligible to be a Chartered Psychologist. These posts are line managed by the Clinical Practice Directors.
Clinical Tutor - Programmes The Clinical Tutor posts provide an opportunity to play a key role in contributing to the delivery and development of quality assured clinical practice education and training for Clinical Psychology Trainees.
Employed by NHS Education for Scotland this post is designed to support the partnership between NHS Scotland and the University of Edinburgh/University of Glasgow in the development, delivery and quality assurance of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
You will support the close partnership working with key stakeholders, developing and implementing quality initiatives and projects as well supporting and delivering innovative clinical practice education whilst ensuring continuity of the current high quality standards of training.
Experience of supervising Trainees is essential, and management of other staff groups is desirable. You should bring a knowledge and interest in clinical practice education as well as excellent communication and team working skills.
Sessions are available on part time permanent basis. (Candidates who wish to request secondment arrangements must have line manager agreement for secondment before the interview stage).
Clinical Tutor – CBT sessions (base negotiable)
In addition to the above posts, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to new professional developments. The specific focus of these new sessions of clinical tutor time will be to support the partnership between NHS Psychology services, the Universities delivering the Masters and Doctoral level Applied Psychology Programmes, and NES to increase supervision capacity in CBT. Aspects of the role may include developing and delivering CBT teaching and supervision to Trainees, mapping current CBT supervision capacity within the Programmes and stakeholder health boards, capacity building for CBT competency training, supporting activities integral to CBT accreditation, delivering CBT supervision training and contributing to research.
Experience of supervising Trainees in CBT and extensive CBT practice is essential. BABCP accreditation is desirable (support to achieve accreditation for preferred candidates would be made available if required).
These sessions are available on a part time fixed term basis or via secondment (Candidates should ensure they have line manager agreement for secondment before the interview stage).
