• Salary range: Level B $85,470 - $101,496 p.a.
• Salary range: Level C $104,699 - $120,727 p.a.
• Salary range: Level D $126,068 - $138,889 p.a.
• Level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience

This position is jointly funded from a University and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) initiative. Applications are invited from outstanding researchers with experience or interest in the application of theories and models from Psychology or Behavioural Economics to climate change, adaptation and sustainability. The appointee will be expected to develop collaborative research links between the Schools and CSIRO, as well as to establish teaching capacity in the area.
The University of Western Australia (UWA) is ranked in the top 100 of all universities (Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Academic Ranking of World Universities 2012). In the recent Excellence in Research for Australia assessment, Psychology at UWA achieved the top rating of 5 and Agricultural and Resource Economics contributed significantly to two highly ranked fields of research: Economics (rating 4) and Agriculture and Veterinary Science (rating 5). Research centres across the two Schools include the Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders, the Bushfire Co-operative Research Centre, Centre for Social Change, and Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy. The Social and Behavioural Sciences Group in CSIRO hosts a number of social scientists with backgrounds in social psychology, geography and environmental economics, working on major national issues of sustainability. Major foci of current work are on adaptation behaviours in response to climate change, water security, and rural communities’ responses to the development of new mining industries.
