We are seeking to appoint an experienced clinical psychologist to work in our low secure service based in the Rhondda Valley, on the outskirts of Cardiff. The successful chartered candidate will join our established psychology team of qualified and assistant psychologists and will provide a service to our 20 bed low secure unit for people with complex mental disorders. The successful candidate will receive in-depth training via our induction programme and other training initiatives being undertaken by Pastoral Healthcare. The successful candidate will also be actively encouraged to engage within our ongoing research evaluation and gain valuable research experience, supervised by senior academics with international reputations in forensic and clinical psychology.
Candidates will need to be chartered and have successfully completed a doctorate in clinical psychology. Experience of working within forensic settings and with mentally disordered offenders and/or people with complex and enduring mental health difficulties is desirable, as is post-doctoral training in an evidenced-based treatment model. A positive and patient-centred attitude towards multi-disciplinary working is essential.
