Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. From the rejuvenation of King’s Cross station and the upgrade and expansion of Thameslink, to Europe’s largest civil engineering project – Crossrail - we are involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures this country has ever seen.
We passionately believe that human performance is core to the operation and maintenance of the railway system. Our high calibre Ergonomics team addresses a wide range of aspects across the company related to the design of equipment/facilities for effective human use and the selection/development of staff.
As Principal Ergonomist you will provide technical leadership for the team, guiding and directly engaging with projects that are developing new technologies and taking a prominent part in the integration of ergonomics into development and delivery of new systems.
One of the Senior Ergonomist roles involves providing ergonomic services across a variety of areas within Network Rail. The other is fixed term for 15 months and will see you embedded in a joint engineering and operations team based in Central London.

• Minimum of an MSc (equivalent or better) in applied behavioural psychology/ergonomics
• Professional status as an ergonomist/psychologist
• Breadth of experience in implementing ergonomic solutions in safety critical system industries
• Strong project and team management abilities
