The School of Psychology is one of the largest in New Zealand, with over 1000 equivalent full-time students, 40 permanent academic staff and 11 administrative and technical support staff. It offers Bachelors, Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Psychology, and specialised postgraduate qualifications in clinical and applied psychology. We are inviting applications for a Lectureship/Senior Lectureship in Clinical Psychology. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, demonstrated ability as a practitioner in Clinical Psychology, and be eligible for registration within the Clinical Psychology Scope of Practice with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. They should have a proven record of research, the ability to supervise postgraduate student research, and the ability to teach in core areas of Clinical Psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the capacity to teach students from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

The Clinical Psychology programme is situated at the Tamaki Campus and includes a Psychology Clinic that is available for teaching and research. Research groups are active in areas of child and adult mental health, Maori mental health, clinical neuropsychology, and forensic psychology.

The successful applicant should expect to contribute to the School’s teaching in Clinical Psychology, to develop an independent research programme within the general area of Clinical Psychology, to carry a full graduate supervision load, and to contribute to service roles within the School and Faculty to a level commensurate with the seniority of the position. S/he should ideally be able to commence duties in February 2013.
