| Description: | College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences University College Cork (UCC) seeks an outstanding appointee for the full-time permanent position of Professor and Chair of Applied Psychology The successful candidate will have a doctorate or equivalent in Psychology, and demonstrate a proven commitment to excellence in research as evidenced by a scholarly reputation of international standing. S/he is expected to have a strong track record of sustained peer-reviewed publications and significant success in obtaining substantial funding for research. The successful appointee will be expected to provide excellence in teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will have a track record of representing Psychology at professional bodies. The successful candidate will also be expected to serve as Head of the School of Applied Psychology on appointment for a period of five years. The professor of Applied Psychology is expected to have a well-developed strategic view of the role of Applied Psychology in the 21st century, to provide able academic leadership and to effectively represent the School of Applied Psychology within the University, the profession and the wider community.
