SALARY: £29,789 to £39,273 per annum pro rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative, interdisciplinary Pain Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the team in delivering first class, modern pain management.
Derriford Hospital Pain Clinic has a large team including clinical specialists and 6 consultants. Working alongside one other qualified psychologist specialising in pain management and a clinical psychology trainee, you will be supported by the broader Clinical Health Psychology Service within the hospital. The department has strong links with Plymouth University allowing opportunities to undertake clinical supervision training courses.
The successful candidate will split their time between assessment and therapeutic work, and individual and group work. You will autonomously manage an individual caseload with possibilities for families and couples work.
In addition, you will have an integral role in the delivery of generic and specialised pain management programmes. Our programmes are inter-disciplinary, evidenced based and cutting edge, incorporating CBT, mindfulness and acceptance techniques.
Committed to research and audit, we collect data on group and individual intervention, allowing us to continuously evaluate outcomes and therefore provide a high quality service. There is an active and expanding programme of multidisciplinary research within the pain clinic. There will be opportunities to be involved in the development of large scale projects as well as presentations and posters at national meetings.
In addition, you would contribute to a small clinical team involved with assessing people for invasive pain management procedures.
The Pain Clinic is committed to continuing professional development. Clinical Health Psychologists in the region have a well organised CPD calendar and you will be encouraged to attend and present at monthly events.
